A Low Pressure Ball Float Valve is provided with a larger hole within the valve assembly (looking down inside the threaded end) to fill the tank or cistern up more quickly, however if the water pressure is too high this will result in excessive noise or water hammer. Conversely if a high pressure ballcock valve or insert (with small hole) is used the cistern (or tank) will take a long time to fill.
