Talbot MDPE fittings are fully demountable using Talbot Extractors. These are available in two styles for each size, Talbot Metal Extractors in pairs, and disposable Talbot Plastic Extractors in bags of 10. The way to use them is listed below
- Slide the pair of extractor tools down each side of the pipe into the Talbot fitting, and withdraw the pipe.
- Extract the grip ring with a screwdriver. Do not re-use the grip ring. Extract and inspect the ‘O’ ring. Replace it if damaged.
- Insert a new grip ring forming a figure ‘6’ and pressing it in.
- Ensure that the grip ring is inserted the correct way round.
