Bronze Float Valve High Pressure VF01 Part 1 Manufactured to BS1212 Part 1 with brass body, brass piston and seat
Part 1 Float Valve Definition
This float valve is Part 1 which means it has a straight arm rather than having a 90 degree bend in it, which would be used in situations where it is necessary to prevent backflow by keeping the water level well away from the valve outlet. Part 1 Float valves are mainly only used in Toilet Cisterns
Float valve high or low pressure?
A High Pressure Ball Float Valve (sometimes known as high flow float valve) is provided with a smaller hole within the valve assembly, as the pressure will be high enough to fill the tank up quickly. However if the water pressure is too low this will result in the tank taking an age to fill . Conversely if a low pressure valve or insert (with larger hole) is used and the water pressure is too high there is likely to be excessive noise or water hammer
Actual Size of 1 1/4 Inch BSP Thread
IMPORTANT NOTE, MOST PLUMBING PRODUCTS ARE STATED AS BSP IMPERIAL THREAD MEASUREMENT WHICH MEANS THAT ACTUAL DIAMETER OF THE THREAD SIZE IS APPROXIMATELY 1/4 INCH LARGER THAN THAT STATED IN BSP TERMS. FOR EXAMPLE THIS 1 1/4 INCH BSP THREAD BRASS FLOAT VALVE ACTUALLY MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 1 1/2 INCH IN DIAMETER
